11. Why I Date My Kids
Schools Of Excellence Podcast - A podcast by Chanie Wilschanski
How do we ensure that our children feel seen and heard and valued and respected through all of life's challenges and hurdles? I'm really blessed to be the mother of four children ages 3 to 10; and if you’re a parent, you know that children require a tremendous amount of time and attention. As parents, we want to be filling their buckets. We want to ensure that they feel that their home is a safe haven for them, that their parents are their rocks and they can always turn to them for support. They want to know that we will hear what they have to say and that we listen without interrupting or getting distracted. How do we do this? Dating our kids is one of the things that my husband and I do together to ensure our home is a place they will be embraced unconditionally. Whenever someone asks us who the most important people are in your life, you probably always say, my husband, my kids, my partner, my kids, right? Well, your calendar should reflect that. We’re covering: The 4 reasons of why I date my kids The questions I ask my kids to build “special moments” Why this builds their emotional bank account How this makes me a better parent In episode eleven of the Schools of Excellence Podcast, I talk about personal leadership and, more specifically, leadership in your home. As a mother of four, I know that your children are usually competing for your attention and your partner's attention at the exact same time. In order to create a safe haven for our children, I’m sharing my four reasons for why I choose to date my kids.
