How to Write and Give a Mormon Talk

Saints Unscripted - A podcast by Saints Unscripted

WARNING: This is strictly our opinion so when you write a talk, follow the Spirit first... and then take our advice ;)    Members of the LDS Church are asked to give 'talks' (lessons, lectures, sermons, whatever you might call it) during Sacrament meeting on Sundays.   Justin explains that typically a member of the bishopric will call or approach you, asking if you will give a talk in the future. While you don't have to say yes, giving a talk is a great opportunity to learn and to grow.   Kwaku says it's important to keep your mind fully in the talk. It's very likely the case that the audience isn't out to judge every word you say.   David says that half of the battle is the long wait before your talk comes. If you can make it to the pulpit, you're going to be okay. :) He also says that really, talks aren't necessarily to teach something profound and new-- talks are a way to relay what you've learned while studying the topic.  Mostly, giving a talk requires prayer so that the spirit can be the teacher. Don't be afraid to say what comes to your heart. Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel: http://saintsunscripted/subscribe :)
