Magdalena Dziaczkowska | Theology of the Nation: The Role of the Catholic Church in Poland in Shaping & Preserving Polish National Identity

Religion & Teologi - A podcast by Centrum för Teologi & Religionsvetenskap

In this lecture, Magdalena Dziaczkowska, phd-student at CTR, explores the way in which the Catholic Church in Poland has contributed to the shaping of Polish national identity, safeguarded that notion and conferred a theological meaning on it. It will briefly examine historical circumstances behind this development, and will conclude by pointing to the challenges which the theologization of Polishness poses to the Catholic Church in Poland today. This is the third lecture (of seven) in the series "The Many Guises of European Catholicism", that the Centre for Theology and Religious Studies is organising with support from the Centre for European Studies at Lund University  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Religion and Theology is produced by Joel Kuhlin for the Center for Theology and Religious Studies.
