Residents of QLD homeless camps evicted
Radio National Breakfast — Separate stories podcast - A podcast by ABC listen - Thursdays

Residents of tent cities in Queensland have been evicted, and in some places, with the aid of police and excavators. The cities of Brisbane, Moreton Bay, and the Gold Coast have denied last week's crackdown on homeless camps was a coordinated effort by the councils. It comes at a time when rent and house prices continue to soar in the state with critically low vacancy rates and long waiting lists for public housing. ABC Radio National Breakfast approached the mayors of Brisbane, Moreton Bay, and the City of Gold Coast councils for an interview but none were available. Guest: Fiona Caniglia, Chief Executive of Q Shelter. Producer: Grace Stranger
