The astrology book that I have referenced the most is “Beneath a Vedic Sky.” If you want one of the best resources to learn Vedic astrology, this book is near the top of my list. One of the most valuable parts of the book is that it shows possible favorable and unfavorable expressions of nearly every placement you can have in a chart. It addresses all of the signs, planets, and houses. The only thing that it doesn't address, and no book or resources could address, is how to read your whole chart holistically.
