Welcome to our the first ever Proper Full-On Gay Podcast!  This week Jamie is joined by guests hosts Ali Kerr and Zac Ryan from LGBT Youth Scotland. We chat about Heartstopper Chapter One touching on Charlie’s relationship with Ben, his growing friendship with Nick and the important role played by Mr Ajayi. Zac tells his humbling and inspiring story about coming out as a trans young person to his music teacher at school and we take inspiration from the show and discuss significant themes like domestic abuse in queer relationships; the legacy of section 28 and the importance of queer representation in education.  Episode Description From Wikipedia:   Truham Grammar High School student Charlie Spring, played by Joe Locke, is in a secret relationship with Ben Hope, played by Sebastian Croft. In his new form, Charlie, is assigned to sit next to Nick Nelson, played by Kit Connor, a rugby player for whom he develops feelings. They become friends, though Charlie is unsure of Nick's sexuality. Nick invites him to join the rugby team, and he accepts. After seeing Ben kissing a girl and realising his own unhappiness in the relationship, Charlie tells Ben he does not want to meet up anymore. Later, Charlie reluctantly meets with Ben again, who forcibly kisses him but is fended off by Nick. Meanwhile, one of Charlie's friends, Elle Argent, played by Yasmin Finney, has moved to Higgs Girls School after coming out as a transgender girl.   Crisis support in the UK  Switchboard – LGBT+ helpline.
