# 59 - The Weedkiller RoundUp Hiding in Your Food? How to Avoid It's Risk to Gut Problems, Inflammation, and Even Cancer About 30 years ago, Genetically Modified Foods (GMOs) came with the promise that they would solve world hunger and use fewer pesticides and herbicides. Did they live up to their promise? Nope. Not only have GMOs not increased crop yields or decreased pesticides and herbicide use, but they’ve been shown to have created super-weeds and super-pests, which actually has led to higher amounts of herbicides like Roundup on our foods.  The increased use of herbicides and pesticides has been linked to increased digestive disorders, neurological problems, inflammation, and cancer. Not to mention serious problems to farming communities, wildlife, and our food quality as these toxins leach into the fields, ground water and food. If 64 other countries label GMOs for consumers to make the choice, why hasn’t the U.S.? Bottom line: Money. Why should you care?  Listen today to find out why you want to avoid these poisons at all costs and what alternatives you can choose at the grocery store.
