The first African-American female Naval Academy Brigade Commander, Midshipman First Class Sydney Barber, has a chance to discuss today and yesterday with 1st Lieutenant Millie Bailey, one of the first African-American women in World War 2 to serve in the Women's Army Corps. She was born in 1918, during another pandemic. All participants were masked during the interview due to COVID and were 6-8 feet apart in the museum's conference room.
