Get to Know Pee: What's the First Thing I Do When I Wake Up

PowerHouse Feng Shui Podcast - A podcast by Patricia Lohan - Mondays

It is really important for us to realise that the first thing that comes into our mind and the first actions that we take every day will set us up for the day. So if we wake up energized or if we start the day with a different mood we can carry out that energy throughout the day. It’s about setting ourselves up for success everyday.   I wanted to share with you the first thing I do in the morning, it’s yoga nidra. Yoga nidra is called Yoga Sleep, a practice that is so powerful. I started doing it every morning and it's really been a practice that has made me slow the hell down and really get into my body. It helps me move into my subconscious mind and really relax my body.    An hour of yoga nidra is equivalent to four to five hours of sleep and I have been doing nearly 30 minutes of yoga nidra every morning. I have other practices that I do in the morning, but this is the one that I just keep coming back to because it's like trying to reprogram ourselves. It’s like giving myself time in the morning, before I jump up and work and also it's like setting the tone. How about you? What's the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?   I would love for you to explore Yoga nidra, it is something that will make such a difference for you and your energy, and it just like resting on your body more. Oftentimes, we don't give our body a chance to rest like we sleep, but this deep rest is so powerful and profound and the nice thing is if we give ourselves a chance to actually just slow ourselves down in the morning, we’re giving our organs a chance to reset ourselves too.   You can create a list of the things that you could do to create a morning that feeds your soul a little bit more and that could be anything. Sometimes we lean in to what other people do or what other people's suggestions are, but finding the things that work for us is the most important. It’s like doing the best to set up your day.   Another thing that I always try to do is to drink a big bottle of water first thing in the morning to clear the inflammation out of my body. I have a yoga nidra on my website which you can check it out (link)   I hope this gave you some inspiration for your own mornings and for things that you could play with. Just try and watch yourself if you're like jumping up and go, go go. For me, I like reprogramming myself a new way of being in the mornings, and hopefully that will ripple through my day. The more I chill in the morning, the more productive it is and I like feeling so much better by the end of the day.   Let's connect   IG: https://instagram.com/lohanpatricia/ Website: https://patricialohan.com/
