Full House: S7E5: Fast Friends (Back To School Series)

Hey Tanner Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today as part of the Full House Back To School Series I covered S7E5: Fast Friends, which aired on October 12, 1993. In this episode Stephanie meets new friends, but soon feels pressured to smoke. Jesse and Joey host a radio show called Teen Talk; or is it Yakkin' With Youth? Also in this episode we meet two new characters Mickey and Gia. Mickey is a character that takes Stephanie under her wing when it comes to how to operate the hand dryer in the decrepit school bathroom as well as how to apply lip liner. Sadly, Mickey only has a two episode arc and then we never see her again. Gia on the other hand is here to stay, she comes off pushy and abbrasive when it comes to peer pressure, practically forcing a cigarette in to Stephanie's mouth. When it appears Mickey would rather spark up with Gia and her crew than follow our golden angel Stephanie to class, Stephanie wonders if her friendship was all for pity as the girls call Stephanie a dweeb all laugh and laugh (including Mickey). Stephanie goes on the hunt for advice on whether Mickey's friendship is worth lighting up for or to save her lungs and blaze her own trail of independence. she adapts an alias as she calls into Jesse and Joey's radio show and the guys and Dj, Steve and Kimmy give what advice they can in regards to smoking. Finding no real help there to her questions and plaguing dilemma, Stephanie turns to her father who tells her to listen to her heart and she'll know the right thing to do. Facing off with Gia, Stephanie finally gains some confidence as she goes toe to toe in the insult war against Gia and wins but not before Gia and her two other cronies call Stephanie a scrub (really, we're back to that now?) Do these girls know the three blondes from DJ's junior high days? Is this the new Scrub Club as I dubbed the other mean girls in Back To School Blues? In the end Mickey still wants to hang with Stephanie and she agrees to cut down on the smokes. Yay! In this episode Rebecca and Jesse are apprehensive about their twin boys attending preschool. Stephanie becomes rebellious due to a friend's influence.
