He treats many types of bone and joint problems, including arthritis, fractures, dislocations, ligament injuries, sprains, and strains. His upper extremity specialist emphasis includes the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, thumb/hand/wrist arthritis, and accidents such as fractures, nerve, tendon, and nail injuries. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego, where he majored in animal physiology and neuroscience and graduated with honors. Dr. Franko then finished his medical education at Harvard Medical School, where he graduated with honors. Following graduation, he went on to finish his residency program in Orthopedic Surgery in San Diego and his fellowship at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
