Panthers have chosen health over all-in approach. Did the Playoff format make their decision easier?

That led to the Panthers making multiple call-ups from AHL Charlotte, as a ways to get the group healthy before the playoffs start in less than two weeks. About nine players that we would predict on the lineup that faced off against Detroit would likely not be in the lineup for game one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Panthers and Red Wings were scoreless after 20, but two goals against in the second period made it out of reach for a Panthers teams as depleted as they currently are. With the current playoff format, did it make the coaching staffs decision a lot easier knowing that it'll be one of Toronto or Tampa that they'll meet in round one?
