Christina Stearns is an autism mom from Upstate New York.  Her son Alec is 15 years old and on the autism spectrum.  She is a founding member of the Autism & Mental Health Initiative of Central New York (CNY), and board member of a new non-profit organization, Sanchia A. Callender, Inc. (visit www.sanchia.org).  Recently, Christina was featured along with two other autism parents in a mini documentary: Life Fantastic, which highlights the challenges that autistic individuals and families face when seeking out appropriate mental health services in the Central New York area.  You can watch the documentary on YouTube: https://youtu.be/eBSsAMbVvq4   Sharing experiences and information with other parents and advocating for kids (and eventually adults) on the spectrum is something Christina enjoys and has been a part of since 2007, when Alec was first diagnosed.  She believes that banning together to build a network of information and support is so very important!  **Important update... the family FINALLY got to visit Alec on June 19th!!!     Social Networks: Learn more about Sanchia A Callender, Inc. on Facebook by searching for the organization's page: Sanchia A Callender, Inc ***************************************** To purchase my book “Welcome to My Life – A Personal Parenting Journey Through Autism” click HERE!!
