HT0416 - Conformity

Here's a thought ... Some 35 years ago, I flirted with black mat board. I had good reasons to do so. But the pressure to conform to the standard white mat board was simply overwhelming. Why is conformity such a big deal in a pursuit that supposedly values creativity so highly?
