In this lesson to help you in improve English, we use Disney/Pixar's movie, Soul to teach you some super helpful terms you can use in your next English conversation. The first term in English we cover is meh. Meh has become very popular in the United States to describe something you really don't care about, something that doesn't really impress you. The next part of the video has a bit of American history. I explain some American folklore about how George Washing could never tell a lie when I might have chopped down a cherry tree. I mention how Harriet Tubman, a conductor on the Underground Railroad, might be replacing our eighth president, Andrew Jackson on the $20. Andrew Jackson was president of the United States during a time called The Trail of Tears. The Trail of Tears is when many Indigenous People of the United States were forced to leave their homes and march halfway across the country to a state called Oklahoma. Many, unfortunately, died along the way. It's a very sad and embarrassing period in American history. A couple other English terms to help you if you are studying English as a second language are "It's my thing" and "Good for you." This video will also be helpful if you are learning English as a second language because I explain a few ways to use the English phrasal verb, "come on," the term "next of kin," and how to use "zip it" in English. 🟨 To become a member and get special videos, join the Discord server, and special member chats, click this link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCakDTg9dhhAsr3WmHyJDa-g/join 🟪 Follow this link for bonus credits from Italki for online English lessons after your first purchase: https://shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1355613&u=2346050&m=70611&urllink=&afftrack= 0:00-0:35 Learning English With Movies Is Fun 0:36-1:15 How to use "meh" in English 1:16-2:39 George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Jackson, and Harriet Tubman 2:40-3:04 Why Harriet Tubman might replace Andrew Jackson on the $20 3:05-3:31 How to use "It's my thing" in English 3:32-4:09 How to use "Good for you" in English 4:10-4:32 A huge thank you to all channel members 4:33-5:37 How to use the term "zip it" in English 5:38-6:22 What does "next of kin" mean in English 6:23-7:14 How to use the English phrasal verb, "Come on" --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/usbrent/support
