Just Give Part 6: “Making Time for Generosity”

In week 6 of the series “Just Give,” Pastor Jake discusses the importance of being generous with our time. By examining Jesus’ life we are able to see that some of the most important moments for eternity can come when we are willing to slow down and be open to the people and situations that God brings into our path. Key verses: John 4:4-14, Ephesians 5:2, 15-17, and Ecclesiastes 3:11-13 Read the key verses and discuss the following questions: 1. How does allowing and even encouraging busyness in our lives create anxiety? 2. Why is it that we can only give our time generously when we have purposed to steward it faithfully? 3. When Jesus interacts with the woman at the well, what is going on in his life? Why might most people in Jesus situation easily dismiss this woman? What would your reaction be in a situation like this? 4. When are some times (maybe even this week) that you missed an opportunity to invest in eternity because you were too busy or unwilling to slow down? 5. Why is it even more important to walk in love when we consider that they days are “evil”? 6. What are some practical ways that you can re-arrange your life to allow yourself to be present for the work that God wants to do with and in you?
