In this recovery, there are many miracles. We have the choice either to embrace the miracles and take part in them or step around and deny them. As we open our hearts to our recovery and let it guide and teach us, we receive many gifts. We develop compassion for ourselves and others, we create a healthier relationship with our mind, body, and spirit, we free ourselves from the oppression of self-hatred and limited self-perceptions, and most simply, we learn to love ourselves.  Gretchen Werner is a Bay Area native who has struggled with bulimia, body dysmorphia, compulsive eating, and self-hatred for most of her younger life. She found Laurelee and Beyond Hunger in her 20's and was finally able to look at herself and love herself with the help of Beyond Hunger, therapy, mindfulness, and a daily practice of self-care and self-love.  She is now a mother to 2 beautiful little girls (3 and 5), pursuing a nursing career, a community activist, and wakes up each day grateful and works on choosing recovery and tries to make it a daily practice to see all the miracles life has to offer each day.  ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
