Being a Support Group Leader and Clinical Director for Beyond Hunger “nurture” should be her middle name. This show talks about working in the field of eating disorders as well as deep grief. When we practice the idea of nurturing it means to provide true nourishment to our bodies, minds and souls. When we become more present and aware of our own needs, it is easier to define what feels good to our bodies and selves, and what is nourishing to us. When we stop hating ourselves and start practicing loving kindness it is easier to take care of ourselves in nurturing ways. Helen has worked in communities, schools and nonprofits for nearly thirty years, helping those with mental health struggles and learning differences. She got into recovery for her own eating disorder during her senior year in college and due to this incredible life changing experience began to consider working with others battling the same illness. She completed graduate school in Sacramento Ca, and finished her licensing hours and exams in the Bay Area. She currently resides in a small town next to San Francisco and enjoys working in private practice where she sees clients with different mental health challenges, specializing in treating children with learning disabilities, grief and loss and eating disorders.Helen’s office number 415-717-7820 ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
