Dr. Shaughnessy received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Tulsa where he currently serves as the Program Manager for indoor air research, and is the university spokesman on issues related to IAQ and radon. He is a world-renowned expert on IAQ issues. Dr. Shaughnessy has taught and conducted research abroad in locations including China, South Africa and Australia, and is recipient of the 1996 National Trainer of the Year Award. Dr. Shaughnessy served as the principal adviser to the EPA on development of the IAQ Diagnostics: Hands-On Assessment of Building Ventilation and Pollutant Transport course, and has been developing IAQ courses for the EPA since 1991. He continues to conduct research on IEQ in Schools and student performance. He was also recently a Section Editor for the AIHA Green Book "Recognition, Evaluation and Control of Indoor Molds". Dr. Shaugnessy and J. David Miller, PhD are Conference Chairs for the April 27-29 "Approaches to Managing Mold in Buildings Conference" sponsored by the University of Tulsa. The conference will be held in Orlando, Florida and will feature a who's who of speakers.
