***Trigger warning*** Intimate partner violence, or domestic violence, can be difficult to see if it starts little by little if your partner says they love you, or if they support you financially. Domestic violence can include forced sex, physical abuse, and emotional abuse, such as cruel words or threats. It can happen between married people, to a couple who lives together or apart, or to a same-sex couple. Abuse is never OK. In this week's episode of the A Walk In My Stilettos podcast, I bring you another inspiring story of resilience.   Nadine Liverpool is a former TV broadcaster turned marketing strategist. She spent 10 years working in sports media for some of the biggest networks in Canada. This former NCAA Division 1 soccer player has also been seen on MTV and NBA TV, as well as Flow Sports throughout the Caribbean. She now works in the creator economy and is helping grow the community at Jobber, one of the fastest-growing tech companies in Canada. Tune in to hear how she overcame intimate partner violence and how you can too!   We discussed:  🎙Her experience dating a “Tinder Swindler/Inventing Anna”   🎙starting a long-distance relationship and then moving to Trinidad from Toronto   🎙Falling for potential vs their present actions    🎙the expectation of having to pay all the bills and maintain the household chores while a partner refuses to work is “financial abuse.”   🎙being sexually assaulted    🎙and much more...
