Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're discussing Azkaban prison, Death Eaters, and Wands!Azkaban prison, located in an unknown region of the North Sea, has held, over the course of history, some of the wizarding world's most dangerous witches and wizards within its walls. It's here that magical folk are sent to pay for their crimes against the wizarding world- and pay their certainly do- isolated from the rest of the world in a dark fortress guarded by dementors. Being sent to Azkaban is a supreme punishment, as the fortress is desolate, nearly-inescapable, and well, scary. Before Azkaban, wrongdoers were scattered across various prisons all over the country, but this all changed when the Ministry recognized that they could use the island fortress. If you were unfortunate enough to be sentenced there, you could be sure that you would be stripped of all of your freedoms, and more specifically- the topic of today's video- all of your belongings. Wand included. We've heard of some of our favourite characters being wrongfully sent there, including Hagrid who was sent there for 2 months after being wrongfully accused of Re-opening the Chamber of Secrets, and then of course Sirius who was falsely accused of murdering Pettigrew, serving Voldemort, betraying the potters, and murdering 12 muggles. The prison also certainly hasn't been short of Death Eaters residing within its walls, with witches/wizards like Igor Karkaroff, Lucius Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange also occupying a space in the prison at one point or another. But ultimately, all of the aforementioned witches/wizards got out of Azkaban, either through escaping or exoneration. What I want to know is, how do the wizards and witches who escape get their wands back? Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
