(500) Days of Summer / Heaven Hill White Label
Film And Whiskey - A podcast by Bob Book and Brad Gee - Tuesdays
Categories:
In honor of its 10th anniversary, Bob and Brad return to 2009 with a look at (500) Days of Summer. On one of their previous Top Fives episodes, they debated whether this was a comedy or a drama. Now, they debate whether it's even a good movie. One thing's for sure, though: this film is so honest it hurts.
Along the way, they talk about the chemistry between Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel, as Brad roots for Gordon-Levitt's character, Tom, while Bob is #TeamSummer.
Meanwhile, they wrap up the six-week Summer of Bourbon series by sampling a controversial bargain bourbon: Heaven Hill White Label. This stuff used to be an in-the-know bourbon lover's dream: aged six years, bottled-in-bond, under $15. Until last year, that is. Now, Heaven Hill still releases a bourbon with a white label, but it has no age statement and is only 80 proof. Does it stack up in any way to the Green Label the guys tried earlier this season?
