Episode 43 - Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy

Documenteers: The Documentary Podcast - A podcast by Bob Sham & Friends

We just couldn't wait. October is here and on the Documenteers that means creepy movies all CREEPTOBER long. In a petty act of revenge for being tricked into listening to 19 versions of the song "I Think We're Alone Now" (Episode 36), Akil's selection for our first Creeptober doc was a four-damn-hour long retrospective on the history of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. Akil and Bob rented and marathoned 2010's "Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy" by Daniel Farrands and Andrew Kasch. The results are surprisingly fun in our longest Documenteers episode yet. It's all about the cult of Wes Craven's Freddy Krueger and the weirdos that carried out his legacy. Crazy shit can happen when you make eight movies starring a knife fingered burnt up pedophile in a striped sweater. Special appearance by Johnny Depp and his alcoholism. We wish nothing but health and happiness for Johnny. Please don't hit women. Keep on Doccin'.
