Covid Doctors, Demons, Deliverance, and Discernment

Disciple Dojo - A podcast by JM Smith

The question from a listener via Facebook Livestream: "I attended a PTSD class for military personnel at a “deliverance” style church called _____________. It intrigued me, so I went to a few of their Friday night Deliverance services. They were very interesting. (I had some idea what I was going to as I went to a Pentecostal church camp with a friend as a kid—that was eye opening—I had no idea what I was going to as a kid). I don’t know much about their beliefs (other than hearing in the past that they “teach” people how to speak in tongues). While I was there, they were calling out evil spirits from people and taking about miraculous healings. I didn’t hear anything that was obviously contradictory to what I’ve read in the Bible, but I wasn’t really sure about it. What are your views on services or churches like this? It came to mind since the lady in the news for the “cure for coronavirus” is taking about kinda wacky stuff like this too..." In this episode of Dojo Discussions, we talk about the supernatural, demons, healing, and other "bizarre" spiritual phenomena...and how we as Christians should approach them.
