This is the edited and annotated version. Though relatively shorter than other suttas, it is in fact, very profound, targeted at the bhikkhus and serious practitioners. ย In unravelling the sutta, Sis Sylvia explains the four bonds that bind us to samsara and the framework (origin and passing away; gratification; danger; and escape) which Buddha used "to understand as they really are" which requires a high level of practice of mindfulness, reflecting on the nature of the mind and trimming craving at its root, i.e., ignorance. ย  By using the Four Noble Truths and Dependent Origination pertaining to the five aggregates subject to grasping which are conditionally arising and ceasing, Sis Sylvia explains how in our engagements with the world, by guarding our six sense bases and contact, without ignorance and delusion, one who is detached from unwholesome states can sever the four bonds, be equanimous leading to cessation of craving. ๐—ฆ๐˜‚๐˜๐˜๐—ฎ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐˜€ Bonds Sutta - AN 4.110 Bhava Sutta - AN 3.76 Dhammacakkappavatthana SN 56.11 Anattalakkhaแน‡a Sutta SN 22.59 Kฤแธทigodha Sutta Ud 2.10 ๐—ข๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐——๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—บ๐—ฎ ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ธ๐˜€ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ Wrong View - https://youtu.be/8nCaeMHI7PU Sabbฤsava Sutta MN2 - https://youtu.be/IyRN8F_zLdE Audio (MP3) and Whiteboard Notes for Downloads Only http://u.pc.cd/CDT Profile of Speaker Sis Sylvia Bay has dedicated herself to the study and practice of the Buddha's teachings since 1992.
