Listen now to find out trading prices for barley, rape seed, wheat and more…The first week of August is a week to watch out for, with some serious premiums coming your way.In terms of the weather report, there has been plenty of rain, and some very warm weather on the way, with a heatwave estimated to hit around the 23rd of July.In this week’s farm chat, Andrew and Webby soar over Norfolk’s countryside, inspecting crops from the air thanks to Keith Pigott; a local expert pilot. By inspecting from the air, Andrew & Webby are able to get an idea as to what will happen next in the grain trade market, and observe how well the harvest is getting along so far.The first observation that Andrew and Webby have is that there does not seem to be much Winter barley, but there is a huge acreage of wheat and spring barley. Sugar beet does not look good, and rapeseed looked very hit and miss. Tune in today to find out what other observations the Dewing Grain team had.The team also discusses worries surrounding the drought in Canada and how it could affect the UK grain market if it perseveres. For those joining us for the next Dewing Grain Walk, we will be walking around Swanton Abbott on Thursday 27th July at 2pm.
