Despite an overwhelming amount of leads, police were unable to find the killer — until Ivan Milat’s only surviving victim, Paul Onions, came forward and positively identified him. Ivan Milat finally got his day in court, but he and his family claimed his innocence. In 2019, Australian police continued to try and get a deathbed confession from Ivan before he succumbed to terminal cancer.
