The first part of our 2-part Donn Fileti of Relic Records interview! Marc and Miriam quiz Donn about his early days as a record nut/ obsessive collector -- which for him began in the mid-1950s-- Donn tells how Relic Records came into being, and the history of the shop and the label. Relic was the first to reissue (and issue for the first time) great 45's, LP's and CD's on the groups, with label histories, extensive, loving research. No one beat them at their knowledge and presentation - Donn and his partner at Relic Eddie Gries - were just TOPS! The Relic label was also the guidepost for Norton, and Donn continues to be a revered originator of fandom, collectordom, labeldom- and top rank historian on the topic of his love-- vocal group records and the labels and labelmeisters who ran the show. This interview, like our previous session with Louie Silvani of Times Square Records, is in two parts- first hour is interview, second hour is full of vocal group unusuals from the respective wax n' stax of M&M.
