📺 Welcome to the 64th episode of the Circular Metabolism Podcast: Growth in GDP, Extraction and Pollution in the Global Economy with Dr. Dominik Wiedenhofer 📺.🏙️ On today’s episode we try to explore the relationship between on the one hand our resource and pollution flows with their associated infrastructure and on the other hand the service that they provide to society. In fact, when thinking about the future, we often ask ourselves how can meet the needs of our societies while reducing the flows needed to operate them. 🎓 To talk about this quite fascinating topic I have a colleague, researcher Dominik Wiedenhofer. Dominik is a Senior Scientist at the Institute of Social Ecology and the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. His work has focused on developing techniques to better account societal uses of materials and energy, its links to the ongoing accumulation of manufactured capital or material stocks of buildings and infrastructure. He is also investigating the role of consumption, by linking resource use and emissions across international supply chains to households, affluence and inequality, to better understand the options and agency for a sustainable/carbon-free everyday life.🙏 Enjoy this episode and before you go, please help us improve our podcast by subscribing to your favourite app including Youtube, iTunes, Spotify, or Stitcher and leave us a comment 📝 with your thoughts.👀 Youtube: https://youtu.be/h9Kxq1uNOP8👂 iTunes: https://podcasts.apple.com/be/podcast/circular-metabolism-podcast/id1455115320👂 Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/show/circular-metabolism-podcast👂 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/13qH9Oj4b0yF0dBidGAdFR👂 Google: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5hY2FzdC5jb20vcHVibGljL3Nob3dzLzYwMWMyYzNlODg4NzQ3NjIyYmY5MzRlNg#gdp #extraction #pollution #growth #podcast Hébergé par Acast.
