In 1 John 3:3-9, John explains that what defines us as children of God is the love we have for one another. We are born from above for the purpose of living righteous lives full of love. The righteousness we practice should always be found in our love for one another to not validate sin, but also not to judge the sin of others in a condemning way. Even as we hunger and thirst for righteousness, we must always pursue love for one another.
