Welcome back for Part 2 of a 2-part episode series on IDENTITY. If you haven't listened to Part 1 Episode 14: What you need to let go of so you can live now! go back and do that first so you can be ready to dive into this week’s episode. When you’re ready, this episode will help you CHOOSE and begin creating your new identity today! [1:35] If we aren’t choosing our identity, then life is going to create our identity for us. [2:10] What your identity really is (& what this affects in your life) [3:04]Why the brain HAS to validate your identity & how to use this wiring in the brain to your advantage [4:23] The things your identity gets attached to & why your challenges (specifically health challenges) are some of the most easily attached to [6:35] How to separate how challenges INFLUENCE your life rather than letting them dictate WHO you are [8:05] Why it is up to you to clearly & consciously separate WHAT you are going through from WHO you are [9:30] An example of separating your struggles from WHO you are from my own life while being in chronic pain and navigating motherhood [11:10] It is choosing to be who you want to be that allows you to heal and overcome and progress and improve from that struggle because you are not so severely attached to it that your brain can’t allow anything different [12:13] Sit down and write out your challenges & be honest about how maybe you’ve attached your identity to them [13:00] Sit down and make a list of WHO you want to be! [13:50] Who are you? And more importantly, who do you want to be? Then begin to act in alignment with it. [15:01] How something as simple as saying “I’m not a morning person” can impact your ability to ever become a morning person [17:49]The crucial action step you might be missing when using affirmations to change [19:05] This does not have to be overwhelming, take one step a day [20:00] Why being really honest with yourself & intentionally taking action every day matters the most in this process [20:40]The greatest limits on our potential are how we see ourselves, because we can never be something we say we’re not “You are not what happens to you, you are who you choose to become” -Ashleigh Di Lello JOIN MY FREE MONTHLY COACHING CALL “Ask Ashleigh” → https://ashleighdilello.com/askashleigh/
