The Winter Line Analysis

Welcome to Beyond Westworld, and boy do we have a simulation for you…

The Winter Line

Maeve seems to have retained all of her superpowers but for some reason they are not working quite right in a possible new park, possibly park 3 according to the weirdness at Delos Destinations. She runs into her old lover Hector as well as old friends Felix, Sylvester, and SIZEMORE? Clearly something is afoot as the mid-century europeans would say and it takes almost breaking Sizemore to figure out that we are in a very crafty simulation of WarWorld. Only Maeve is real but her pearl is trapped and she does her best Neo impression to hack the real world from inside the Matrix, only to her escape plan foiled by Dr. Dastardly himself SERAC!

Meanwhile Bernard is still trying to figure out if he is 100% or just a "Damaged Arnold" as he seeks help from his old pal Ashley Stubbs once Bernard returns to the Island where Westworld is. Bernard and Stubbs can't make it all the way back to the Mesa, so they side tour to Park 4 where we see mid-evil stuff all around graciously donated by the Game of Thrones folks and HBO. Can we call Park 4 Mid-evilWorld or WesterosWorld? Only time will tell. Bernard is really their looking for Maeve, unfortunately when he and Stubbs arrive at Cold Storage on Level 73, it turns out Maeve's core has been taken from her head.

Be sure to answer our park satisfaction questionnaire this week down in the comments. Should Maeve Help Serac? How will these stories converge with Dolores and Caleb's back on the mainland? Where are the real Felix and Sylvester? Where the hell is William aka The Man in Black? Tune in next week for another vacation Beyond Westworld!

About HBO's Westworld

In 1973, celebrated author and filmmaker Michael Crichton released Westworld, his visionary idea of what a theme park could be as human-looking androids fulfilled our every desire. Four decades later, creators Jonathan and Lisa Joy Nolan are taking the concept to the next evolutionary step as Westworld can now be ‘fleshed’ out as a deeper concept that explores the vast array of potential and consequence from such advanced technology. The one-hour drama series is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, it explores a world in which every human appetite can live without limits, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged. The cast of the series includes Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, Anthony Hopkins, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, James Marsden, Tessa Thompson, and more.
