Bavarian Podcast Works: Germany beats Portugal, 2-4, holds fate in their own hands against Hungary in Euro 2020
Bavarian Podcast Works - A podcast by The Bavarian Podcast Works Team
A lot of us cried “doom and gloom”; a lot of us thought it was over for Germany after a deflating performance against France in their Euro 2020 opener. Yet, today, the attack was inspired, the play was joyful, the defense was shaky and Germany won. It wasn’t a last second free kick from Toni Kroos; it wasn’t a lucky goal; they deserved the victory. With Hungary taking a point against France today, every team is alive going into the final matchday; all Germany has to do (no easy task) is to beat Hungary on the final day and they will qualify; in fact, if Portugal beats France on the final day and Germany beats Hungary, Germany will finish top. Hungary was supposed to be out of it all as was Germany; but both are alive and kicking ahead of the last day of this group on Wednesday, 06/23. The deciders promise to be breathtaking; this game for me, was the best game of this tournament.
