“I’ve made about 8 or 10 short films now, and if you go into them thinking they’re going to be expanded, I think you perhaps do the form a bit of a disservice. For me, short films stand alone; they’re closer to a poem than a short story. They’re hard to get right, and when you do get them right (if you ever do) they’re a joy.” Director Peter Mackie Burns discusses the making of his first Feature Film 'Daphne', which was inspired by one of his early Short Films 'Happy Birthday to Me'.
