this high school dropout is transforming the failing public school system by following her bliss

back from the borderline - A podcast by mollie adler

At 15 years old, Zelda Poem, a young girl growing up in a small town in the South of France, intuitively sensed that something was wrong with the public school system. This led her to take a massive leap. Against the advice of her burnt-out teachers, she decided to drop out of school at age 16 with the massive goal of reimagining what education could look like for students of the future. Since then, she has published a book, pursued training in art therapy, empathic communication, psychology, facilitated workshops, and consulted for various EdTech startups. Her latest project includes developing what she calls “Tomorrow’s School,” a collective art gallery promoting a new education system. In this episode, Zelda and I sat down to discuss the negative (and potentially harmful) aspects of the current public education system in the US and EU and what schools of the future might look like if they were to focus on true community, individualized learning, emotion regulation, and allowing students to follow their bliss. Questions answered and topics discussed in my interview with Zelda: ■ What are the main problems with public education? ■ What are the effects of a failing public education system on students? ■ How can we fix the failing public education system? ■ What are the benefits of AI in education? ■ What are the potential challenges of implementing AI in education? ■ Can AI replace teachers? ■ How can AI personalize learning for students? ■ How can the use of AI potentially improve educational outcomes? ■ How parents and teachers can foster creativity and critical thinking skills in the education of children■ How to help a highly sensitive child navigate school Connect with Zelda:  Visit Zelda’s website, where you can read about her work and connect with her on her various social media platforms (click here)Enjoyed this episode?
