Contributor(s): Professor Çağlar Keyder | Professor Keyder will propose an account of the last hundred years of the “state tradition” in Turkey. Çağlar Keyder is Centennial Professor at the LSE European Institute and Professor in the Department of Sociology at Boğaziçi University. Esra Özyürek is an Associate Professor and the Chair of Contemporary Turkish Studies at the European Institute, LSE. The LSE European Institute (@LSEEI) was established in 1991 as a dedicated centre for the interdisciplinary study of processes of integration and fragmentation within Europe. In the most recent national Research Assessment Exercise, the Institute was ranked first for research in European Studies in the United Kingdom.
