Goddess Shasti Devi is the daughter of Lord Brahma and the wife of Lord Muruga. She is called so, because she is one-sixth of Prakriti or nature. Devotees worship Shashti Devi to ensure their children’s welfare. She protects children and infants. She is worshipped on the 6th day after a child is born to protect it from diseases and ward off evil energies. She is also worshipped on the 21st day after childbirth and when food is first given to the infant. Childless couples can be blessed with a child if they worship her. Chanting this Stotram invokes the blessings of Shasti Devi and ensures the well-being of your children.
