Devi Mahathmyam, Chapter 11: Devi Narayani Stuti

AstroVed’s Astrology Podcast - A podcast by AstroVed

After the killing of the demon, Shumbha, the gods became very happy and began to praise Goddess Katyayani (Chandika). Narayani is the “innate power behind the ultimate God”, and also the one “who provides the basis for all living beings.” She is the power behind Lord Narayana. The verses describe her attributes and express the gods’ gratitude to the Goddess for saving them from the demons. The Devi Mahatmyam comprises chapters 81-93 of the Markandeya Purana. It narrates the stories and exploits of Durga in her fight against the demons. Devotees chant these verses during Durga Pooja to invoke the Goddess’ blessings and protection.   If you would like to find out more about your chart or have a question about astrology you would love the answer to, please do connect with us at www.astroved.com Follow AstroVed on IG, Twitter, and FB @AstroVed
