In October 2015, CrimethInc. visited A-ryhmä's lecture series with anti-police topic. Five years later, the talk is as actual as ever. In 2014-2015, U.S. saw a dramatic wave of resistance to racialized policing. In some cases the protests expressed themselves within a reformist framework of police accountability, but quite often they extended to a rejection of police as such. Our talk will chart anarchist involvement in U.S. anti-police struggles from 2009 to the present, with special attention to race, the left, and the current non-state backlash. For us, struggles against policing are central to anti-capitalist struggle in the 21st century. They respond to a situation in which our roles in the economy are fluid and precarious, and in which the control of marginalized populations is crucial for the machinery of exploitation.
