In this episode, I talk to one of Britain’s most popular comedians, JOE LYCETT about his comedy career. Lycett won the Chortle Student Comedian of The Year competition in 2009, the runner-up in the 2009 Laughing Horse New Act of the Year in the same year, and a finalist in the 2011 BBC New Comedy Awards. In 2012, his acclaimed debut stand-up show Some Lycett Hot was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. In 2016, his book Parsnips, Buttered was published and in 2019, and a TV regular, his consumer show Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back began broadcasting on Channel 4. Also, in 2019, he became the host of the BBCs, The Great British Sewing Bee and in 2021, he was a subject on the popular ancestry show Who Do You Think You Are.  One of my absolute favourite comedians, I have seen Lycett perform many times including at the Edinburgh Fringe his solo show That’s The Way Aha Aha Joe Lycett in 2015 and for Always Be Comedy from 2016 to 2021 where his unique style of comedy has repeatedly reduced me to fits of hysterical laughter.  Thank you so much for listening to my podcast, if you like what you hear, please subscribe and I hope you enjoy the interview.
