In this episode, I talk to the comedy legend, ARTHUR SMITH about his comedy career. Beginning his alternative stand-up career in the 1980s, Smith, the self-proclaimed Night Mayor of Balham, regularly appeared at London’s Comedy Store and many comedy clubs in the capital.  He has attended most Edinburgh Festival Fringe’s since 1977 and as well as performing stand-up comedy, he has presented TV shows and written books and plays, most notable An Evening with Gary Lineker. I have seen and really enjoyed him live on stage many times in London and Edinburgh including his solo shows Cobbled Up Shambles in 2010, Arthur Smith Sings Leonard Cohen (Vols 1 – 3) in 2013, 2014 and 2017, Oh Hazel in 2015 and Syd in 2018.  I also attended Arthur Smith in Conversation with Beyond the Title in 2021 where he discussed his prestigious forty-year career in British comedy.  Thank you so much for listening to my podcast, if you like what you hear, please subscribe and I hope you enjoy the interview.
