#119 with ALLAN BACON: Ditch the all or nothing mindset & be COMMITTED to the PROCESS

100% Real With Ruby; no #BS health, fitness & mindset - A podcast by Ruby Cherie - Fridays

Ditch the all or nothing mindset & be COMMITTED to the PROCESS EMBRACE PATIENCE. Take the emotion out of your decisions. Your body has many ways of maintaining a set or settling point based on the lifestyle you have lived up until now. It is so important to SOLIDIFY HABITS and realises the results and progress you get outside of numbers. It is more difficult to unlearn habits than learning new ones, so it is so important to create an environment that serves you - the PEOPLE you surround yourself with, your food environment etc - if you see cake and cookies out on the counter, bets are on you eating those. Make it SERVE YOU and make maintaining your results easier. Your body FIGHTS change. Thats why so many people experience plateaus and frustrations. YOU NEED TO FUEL FOR THE BODY YOU WANT. Maintenance in itself is a SKILL!! UNDERSTAND YOUR HUNGER - is it real or hedonic?? How can you make this easier? Avoid the cafeteria or buffet effect - Avoid tastebudgasms with a million different flavours. HOW CAN YOU MAKE SOMETHING LESS WORSE You WILL become more food focused as you lose more body fat so you have to make it easier for yourself; Yes, your habits will need to be in place in this time - but the grit needed wont be the same to maintain as it was to lose the weight in the first place because you are BECOMING that person. This is why it is so so important to focus on the process. Motivation is fickle. You need to be COMMITTED to the person you want to become and the life you want to live. DITCH THE ALL OR NOTHING MINDSET and focus on progress outside of the scale. ABOVE ALL - know that you will fail, you will struggle, and you will fu*k up. Thats inevitable - so be prepared to work through that and not approach it with the all or nothing mentality. What can you REALISTICALLY do right now to “do or be less shit”
