Not only can gratitude be one of the most enjoyable emotions to feel in and of itself, it can also be used to soften and ameliorate painful emotions like stress and grief. Instead of forcing yourself or shaming yourself to “just be grateful,” this shift in perspective will help you think about gratitude in a way you never have before and make it easier to feel.
